How exactly do you "puree" food??

THis is probably a really dumb question.  I'm  a couple days away from pureed food. I'm planning my new shopping list.

My surgeon's meal plan suggests pureed veggies/fruits/meats, etc.

I have a blender, and a food process. I'm assuming I use those, but do you have to add liquids to make it "pureed"?

I can't imagine pureed meats - not sure I want to try them until I can eat solid food. The fruits sound tolerable.

you don't have to add liquid, however it would probably be good if you blended some yogurt in with the fruits.

I'd say use the food processor.

You could also try babyfood.. pre-pureed for ya!  haha.

I'm not exactly sure how to puree veggies.. I wouldnt try meat either, unless maybeeee pureed chilli.. my dad had to have that once when his jaw was wired shut and said it wasn't bad. lol. (:

I used my magic bullet to puree my food. It really wasn't that bad once you get used to the look of it, it tasts just as good as any other food. Buy a bag of frozen, pre-cooked chicken breast strips. You just microwave them for a bit and then I liked to puree them with a variety of sauces to reach a good consistency. This makes it super easy, you can just nuke 2-3 oz at a time. Some of my faves were: "Chicken Parmesan": Chicken, spaghetti sauce, oregano, and parmesan cheese, "Chicken Quesadilla": Chicken, salsa, cheddar cheese, and "BBQ Chicken": Chicken, your favorite BBQ sauce (i like famous dave's rich and sassy), a little onion and cheddar cheese. For some reason pureed chicken didnt gross me out as much as the thought of say, pureed ham or something like that. So basically, grab something you like, grab a sauce you would normally throw on it, a few spices and maybe some cheese and you will have a fine puree! Oh and a good breakfast puree was eggs, sausage, salsa, and cheddar. That was really good! The thought of purred eggs grossed me out at first but for some reason, mixed in with sausage it didnt seem so bad.

I have a list of things to use,
FF broth
FF sour cream
FF gravy
Skim milk
Light mayo or miracle whip
Light or ff Greek yogurt
I'm told it should easily slide off the spoon.

For beef and chicken, you can use gravy or broth.  My husband makes a mean gravy whenever he does roast chicken, so I pureed that and froze it ice cube trays... makes for a quick/easy meal.

well, I have never pureed anything for myself...but at my work we do for a lot of the kids. We just throw it in the blender all together and let it go. Looks super nasty and I do not look forward to it lol!!

We didn't have a "pureed" stage.  I went from full liquids to soft foods.
