Thinking of a blowout

Today is my final day before I being my 14-day pre-op liquid diet and I have some really bad urges going on. I keep thinking ... 2 weeks of liquid-surgery-two more weeks of liquid-two weeks of purees.... yikes it will be forEVER before I eat again.
Still, I'm determined not to just binge today as a final "blowout". That has often been my habit in the past just before starting my next, brand new, guaranteed, quick weight loss diet.
I have made a lot of changes in the past year and especially the past six months so think good thoughts people... lol... I need all the positive energy out there!
Here's to a day of sensible eating followed by the steps needed to acquire a tool that will help me with my overeating problems for the rest of my life.
Cheers! (BTW - is tequila allowed on an all-liquid diet? lol)

Congrats on making it through this far! Nobody said liquid didn't include liquor, right?? LOL! Hope it's an easy go for you. Eat something decadent today... just because you CAN! ...or not. Either way, hope it's a good day for you!

I start my pre-op liquid diet in 3 days and yesterday I had a 'panic moment' ....you know the 'omg-I-better-eat-what-I-want-cause-I'll-never-have-it-again' type of thing. I sent my husband out to get chinese food from my favorite chinese restaurant and to get all my favorite thing...lo mein noodles, egg rolls, deep fried chicken and vegetables, crab and cream cheese dumplings. The funny thing is...I have been doing sooo well with die****er and exercise in the past weeks that I couldn't even eat that much of it and it didn't even taste that good!!! It's like the idea of eating was better than the actual food...suprisingly once I had it in front of me I could have taken it or left it.

I meant to have a big blow-out but wound up not getting around to it. Too much to do in the days leading up to the liquid diet.  I do recommend you have things like steak, pasta, and rice as it will be a long, long time (if ever on the pasta and rice) before you are eating those again. Personally, I wanted some lobster before I started. It's fibrous so I knew it would be a long while before I could have it again, but I didn't get any. I will be having some (sans butter) as soon as my sleeve allows, though. That is the one thing I have 'craved' since starting the LD and then getting sleeved.

My last meal lasted for about a week before I went in for my surgery. I ate as many of my favorites as possible. I am not ashamed to admit it, if you can go without a last meal your a stronger person then many of us. Good luck!

Thanks all for kind thoughts, wisdom and a few chuckles... I think I'll continue to take the day as it comes (it's noon and I've had an apple, a protein shake and a coffee so far and not feeling deprived ... just yet).
Perhaps this evening the hubby and I will go out to dinner somewhere nice where I can enjoy a bit of good surf and turf, even though I probably won't want that much of it. Definitely can't eat the amounts I used to (though I'm sure I work back up to those gargantuan feasts if I ever put my mind to it...)
Anyhow, one day at a time, thanks for sharing ... and it's onward and upward to my new body!

It is good not to overdo a food funeral.  My doc advised eat light on the day before surgery. Helps insure that you are cleaned out along with the fasting.

I definitely don't plan to overeat the night before surgery... that's a scary idea for me. But since I'm about to embark on two liquid weeks, thought a blowout would be good. In the end, just couldn't decide what and since I knew I couldn't eat steak, seafood, pizza, chinese food, a burger and chicken wings all in one night, in the end it's a little bit of grilled steak that hubby is making and a big salad.... not too exciting and definitely not the wild side, but there will be time for all of those others in small servings in the years to come... so tomorrow bring on the protein shakes and crystal lite.... and we will begin!
