Hi All,
My daughter and family wanted to go hiking today. I thought ok, I will go it could not be that bad. OL, MY GOODNESS, We went up hills and down hills over rocks and trees. I keep telling my daughter we needed to turn around after an hour, I knew it would take me awhile to get back out of the woods. Thank God we came up on a snake, We think copper head, that did it my daughter was ready to turn around, whewww. Thank You Lord, or I would be still trying to get out of the very wild trail  LOL. So I had to stop a few times to get back out of there, but just for a minute, I felt bad because I was slowing them down" PLEASE ME SAYING THIS, I AM NOT TRYING TO HAVE A PITY PARTY"  I know some people think I am trying to get pitty when, I get stressed and vent on OH. Not making excuses either. But since I had breast cancer, I had chemo, radt, it took alot out of me. It damaged the nerves from my waist down, makes them weak, arms also. I mean I want to go to the gym walks and all, but my legs are weak and I fall alot stumble a lot. But I am going to try my best with the help of the Lord to keep exerciseing, you know it might really rebuild what cancer took away from me, plus losing weight should help me a lot.
So I am at work with 2 band aids on each foot, lol.  But I made it back up the trail, so YEA FOR ME! In the morning are mine and my daughters gym day. I don't know what I am going to do when she go's back to Ga. I am going to at least try to keep up at the gym. She has been working out almost 2 years, hiking, bikeing, hey all this is new to me have mercy, on old Mom.
lol
Hope everyone is having a great day. God Bless
Evie

Vent away!   I am just getting my ability to walk any distance back now, so I admire your ability to walk that far.  Good for you.
Don't know if you've seen them, but there are walking sticks out there that really help with stability when you're on rought terrain.  We got some for my mom and she LOVES them.  They look like ski poles, fold up to fit in the car, are super light, and help her keep up while avoiding losing her balance.    Wal-mart has some really cheap ones if you just want to try them out first.  Theirs won't last much more than a year, but you can invest in nice ones from REI or Campmore once you know what you like.
Then you can chase all the snakes you want to.     Have fun.

Thank You. I have never heard of a walking stick. Glad you told me about them.
God Bless

WTG Evie!  Just think - you may have had to take a couple of breaks, but there is no way you could have done this last year!  (and I'm sure your family was more happy having you along than they were bothered by a little bit slower pace!)

Keep up the great work and keep rockin your sleeve!

Great job with the difficult hike-- it sounds like it was a challenge and a blast (well, except for the snake part)!

Keep up the good work!
