When can I ride the roller coasters? LOL

Ok, so my goal for this summer was to get back down to a weight where I could comfortable ride all the coasters at our local Six Flags, I was so confident I could do it that we even bought season passes. Then I lost my band, blah blah blah.

So now I am at a weight I am comfortable with trying them out at, but I don't know how long I should wait for healing. Anyone got any advice? I go back to my surgeon in a few weeks, but figured I would toss it out to you guys too!

No way I would until I was comfortably on solids. (Just finished reading the "I'm so embarrassed/never trust a fart" posts)

I wouldn't want to have to find a bathroom NOW after standing in line for an hour!!

That's a great question!  I was just wondering the same thing.  At my two week check up after surgery my doc gave me the thumbs up to go ahead and start exercising and swimming, but not to push myself too much because healing takes a long time.  You should probably play it safe and wait to talk to your doc before hitting the rides.

Before surgery I went on a tight rollercoaster at about 260 and fit fine...

I am 3 weeks out and I would totally go on a rollercoaster today... my farts have been trustworthy ;-)

The only thing I still won't do is lift really heavy stuff... like I need 200lbs of play sand (in 50 lb bags) for the sandbox... normally I wouldn't bat an eye, just go get them... nope, not yet!  My dad's gonna pick them up for me this weekend... the new guy I'm seeing was going to do it for me, but he has to fly out of the country tonight on a security detail :-(  Oh well!

You might want to check with your doc to be sure, but I'd say have fun!!!

I went on the Log Flume at 3 weeks out with no problem but I wouldn't try something that holds you in tight and you might be banging up against so early out, IMHO :)
