Tell me about your digital kitchen scale!

ok dumb question here but how do you know what things should weigh for each stage?
I too want to weigh my food so I dont overeat but how much at a time and when? Help!

I got my OXO one at Bed Bath and Beyond for $30 and I got to then use a coupon on it! It works well, tares things whenever you press the button, and has a display that you can pull out for larger plates and bowls that might otherwise cover it up.

 Thanks everyone! Since so many people recoomended the Escali I found one for a good price on Amazon, added a few canning supplies to the order and got free shipping. AND it's red, so it matches my mixer LOL
