Me, too! I'm new and don't know much. But I do know about the famous stall issue. I will no longer address this topic. I'm done with it!

So many people join and immediately post a question. Almost always it's about something that's been talked about over and over again. Rather than reading and learning they jump right in. That's OK but I'm not playing that game any more. If the word stall is in the subject line I don't look at it.  I've asked OH support to let us sticky some repeat topics at the top of our page and the answer is no, topics repeat and that's the way it is.

I agree with every word. Good response.

When i see the stall posts, I'm dying to respond something snarky, but I don't.  I truly don't want to hurt anyone's feelings... but it's as if they've NEVER heard of them (have they really not been reading the boards?).  "OMG, I'm 9 days out from surgery and I'm not losing 2 pounds a day anymore... did this happen to anyone else?  Help!  How do I break this stall?"  OK, see, that was mean.  This is why I can't respond to those anymore.

"- Most people have some kind of stall at 3 weeks.
Wow - this one drives me nuts!  For those coming in complaining about being a few days out from surgery and not losing weight for TWO whole days in a row.  Or thinking that a stall lasts 5 days.  In my mind, those aren't stalls.  It's call NORMAL.  Or posting about a stall as if they've never heard of those before... um, read the post 10 down from yours and you'll see the same thing!  Better yet - read through today's posts before posting anything - at least skim them!!  It may be covered today already.  OK - rant over."

ROFL!!!  I actually talk to a couple of my friends about this.  People have actually complained about not losing weight on one particular day. They were distraught!  I try to remind people that the body is a lot more complicated than the scale.  Most of your stomach is gone, the scale will catch you later.  BTW, stress is bad for weightloss.

My favorite: I'm 2 weeks out and  I just ate ___, did I stretch my sleeve?!!

OOH!  The "did I stretch my sleeve" posts are another good example!!  Wowza!

Too funny... I'm actually laughing at all of this right now.  I've gone from frustrated to laughing... I must be insane.

I've had to stop answering some of this stuff. After I suggested using the search feature or making friends with Google and a lady told my I was childish or acting like a juvenile or whatever it was I'm done with it. I did try to get OH management to let us "sticky" some of these commonly asked questions so someone doesn't have to answer the same thing day after day. But they won't do it. So I tried bumping the "stall" topic to the top but that doesn't last long. So I've done what I can do. I suggested researching on you own and got shot down for it. Tried going to management and got told NO. Tried bumping to the top but that doesn't work. I know someone will step in to help those in need.

I LOVE this post!!! Granted still being pre op by only a few days - I have learned ALOT from all of you veterans - and for that I thank you!!!  As said my NUT said 1200 including carbs etc, which as I found does NOT work for me, and on advice from veterans!

I started my journey going to a therapist for my food issues - that way I can prepare myself mentally as well as emotionally.

With this forum I have researched the HELL out of everything - and reading, reading and more reading from all of you on this forum has helped me appreciate more what I am getting into.

If people get their panties in a wad over the truth - they need to pull up their big girl/boy britches and suck it up and move on!   Id rather hear the honest truth than be bs'd.

I appreciate all you veterans for your stories of your successes and journeys!!

Since the begining of my journey to WLS I have been stalking this site.  I have researching WLS for years now, but was never comfortable with my options until I heard about VSG.  Since I have come to OH I have learned so much valuble information from the Vets.  Those who take the time to sit back and read, and I mean really read, don't post silly statements or ask the same questions multiple times.  I have gone back as far as I can, typed in specific searches, and went to specific profiles just so I could read everything.  I love the hoesty I hear from the vets...there are about 8-10 of you who post regularly.  I am preop and can't believe someone a week out is eating cake!  Seriously!  WT bleep were you thinking?  Where I live the hospital puts you through so many steps to be sure this is right for you.  They start off by saying they are doing surgery on your stomach and not your mouth.  That if ou continue your old habits you will continue to be obese.  Isn't that called insanity when you continue to do the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome?  This surgery means the world to me and I have worked so hard to change my lifestyle before I even have the surgery.  Great post Frisco.  I look forward to your advice and anyone else who has made it and maintained when I'm on the losers bench!!
