Soft food diet suggestions?
I was supposed to start soft foods this week as well, but I'm having trouble, even with the cottage cheese. For some reason the soft foods seem to make my tummy upset. I think I'll stick with full liquids just a litle longer. I've heard lots of great suggestions. There is also Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies book that has a lot of great recommendations for foods you can eat in the soft/puree stage. Good luck!
You might want to check if this book is available through your local library or even order it from Amazon (I got from the library and liked so much that I ordered my own copy).: "Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery: Over 140 Delicious Low-Fat High-Protein Recipes to Enjoy in the Weeks, Months and Years After Surgery"
Patt Levine; Paperback; CDN$ 14.08
The recipes are intended for lap-band, RnY patients but there is no reason us VSGer's can't use them. They show how to make high-protein, low carb meals that you can serves to friends and family as well as eating yourself either in pureed form or eventually as regular meals.
It has some great ideas and written by a wls surgery patient along with a nutritionist.

Also hummus, refried beans from Taco Bell (saved my ass many times!), Wendy's chili, SF pudding, applesauce. Not sure about peanut butter, might be too dense, check with your NUT. You may be able to thin it with a little milk. Soft-scrambled eggs with mix-ins like hot sauce or shredded cheese or both.
