One week vacation -- gained 1/2 pound !!!! and NSV
Yep, I'm happy about it.
In the past I would have eaten tons of junk food, and things I had no business eating. This camping trip, I ate one or two roasted marshmellows at campfire -- and yes, I did eat pancakes for breakfast one morning, and french toast another.....yes, I ate a slice of bread here and there that I normally would never have eaten at home..... but normally, I would come home from vacation having gained several pounds.....
And I lived without my scale to give me feedback on my daily progress.
I was able to hike places I haven't hiked in years, I rode horseback for the first time in a couple decades (being then too heavy for the weight limit). I river rafted, and I basically ate whatever everyone else was eating for the most part --- but limiting my intake as much as possible. (We were camping with a group of friends). I had to eat protein and granola bars instead of my usual yogurt or cheese -- and I think that is mainly where the extra calories came from... but all in all, I am thrilled with my ability to do more things, and not to be the "heavyest person" there, or the person that everyone was waiting on, but I was the first up every morning, heating up coleman stove and the kettle for coffee, hauling water, and chasing everyone elses early riser kiddos !!!
Home now, with more laundry to do than can be humanly possible, and very sore knees from all my adventures....but a year ago.....and 100 pounds lighter....now....
I am thrilled !!!

Wow, fabulous for you!!!
We have a couple weeks vacation in the mountains planned next month. I'll still be pre-op. Not very excited... figure I'll be too fat and out of breath to enjoy much.
We have a cruise planned for next May. I'll be 5 months post-op (hope!). I can hardly contain myself waiting for that one. I'm looking forward to being so much more active.
How exciting to see someone enjoying life more than ever!
