Is unflavored powder protein really unflavored?

Just on my second day of liquid diet for surgery on Aug. 31 and I'm sick of sweet drinks.  Has anyone drank the unflavored powder protein and is it really unflavored? I'd rather drink more water than try to get all those sweet drinks down.  Help!

Have you tried Isopure? Some people aren't fans, but I found the tart-tasting fruit drinks much easier to stomach than sweet chocolate or vanilla shakes. Try 'em!

I hear ya. I used chicken broth, no MSG, low sodium, no fat and it tasted sooo good after all that sweet stuff.

Good luck hon..it will ALL be worth it~  Jan

No, to me the unflavored ones had an aftertaste- even in things like broth. I second the others, try chicken broth or maybe even the roadside lemonade one?

My opinion only; Unflavored did not = tasteless.

Honestly, it reminded me of (smell/taste) Similac baby formula with iron. And, the aftertaste was horrific.

I use Unjury unflavored protein powder and put it in things I eat or drink, it's not tasteless but it could be worse. If you can have soup put some in soup and see if you like that.

Unflavored is just that - they don't add any specific flavoring to it, not that it is tasteless. That said, the Unjury is fairly benign and can be added to lots of things without strongly influencing the overall taste, but it will still be there if you are adding it to something delicately flavored.

I had some Unjury unflavored that I couldn't use because the smell makes me sick, to say nothing of the taste. Have you tried Unjury chicken added to broth or soup?

unflavored is gross.  It's not really unflavored.  Tastes, smells and looks like baby formula.  Only thing I have been able to do with mine is make it into the protein cakes from eggface's blog.  It's PERFECT for that, LOL.
