Off soft foods soon...what foods should I test first?

Just going shopping today and would like to find some of the "safer" foods to start testing after the soft food stage.

Any suggestions on what to start with or stay away from?

I love it that there are those that have gone down this path and can share the ups and downs so my path may be a little smoother.

thanks,
donna

what types of foods were you eating on the soft foods phase?

I did well with ground turkey, white fish, seafood, deli meats, cottage cheese, other cheeses (watch out for too much fat and salt, I try to use it for flavor, not the main event), beans, lentils and fruit.  I did peel my apples and pears for a little while, but if you get the no sugar added fruit cups, they are all cooked enough to be easy on the new tummy.

Just remember to play 'train engineer"...... chew, chew, chew!   (sorry, was hanging out with the neighbor's grandbaby this past weekend)

Cottage cheese, small amouts of cheddar cheese, soft fish, tuna fish in a can, smoothies wirh protein powder and a little banana, green pea soup.
Thats about it. Somedays it all goes down well and other days not so much.
I only eat about 2 oz at a sitting.

I am also supposed to start adding foods now. So I am glad you asked this question. I was wondering about deli meats (specifically turkey). I know some meats are not tollerated well. I was hoping this would be something I could add back into my diet soon as it would be a nice source of protien.

I just started back on regular foods so these are the things I have been keeping on hand;
boiled eggs for snack
scrambled eggs for bkfst
deli meats rolled with a slice of cheese
I've done well with ground meats
chicken (not too dry though)
fish, shrimp, other seafood
steamed or cooked veggies

I haven't tried any heavy meats yet, like steak or pork chops. I'm still nervous! Also no leafy raw veggies like in salad yet. Everyones little tummy may respond differently so just take it easy and really focus on the protein. Good luck!
