INCREDIBLE FIND !!! And weird social work moment....

Glanced in that incredible mirror in the bathroom at work, and saw the most preplexing thing.....the bathroom wall behind me, between my thighs.  There hasn't been a space there in 30 years.  I was fascinated.  There I was giggleing in the ladies room.

Also found this really interesting thing -- I have "dents" in my ankles on either side of my achilles tendon.  I always wanted those.  Skinny people have them.....(ok, now I'm scaring myself...)

I also had a rather unbelieveable thing happen yesterday..... I was working with a teenage girl who was being placed in her 15th foster home in three years.  She was being placed in our out of town foster home, because she runs away, and is gang identified, so they want her out of her old town.  I didn't know that, I had just met her, and hadn't had time to read her file.  So we are just talking :

Me " hmmm.  I wonder why the county wants you placed so far from home...."

Teen "I dunno"

Me  "well I'm guessing it has to do with the ink on your hand....are you gang affialiated?"

Teen (grinning) "kinda"

Me  "what other ink do you have on you?"

shows me a few more....(she's 14 years old)

Our conversations continues....she finally looks right at me and says:

"Heck, you scaring me, your one fast little white social worker lady"

I choked.  The teen is Black, and my colleague at my new job is too....so my colleague says, look, you have offended my supervisor by calling her a white lady....in that tone of voice....

NO NO NO -- I was shocked ---- I USED to get called a FAT social worker lady !!!!!

So I had to come clean at my new job and tell my colleagues and young missy that I had lost over 100 pounds over the past year and was stunned at having been called "LITTLE !!"

That teenager laughed until she cried.  So did my boss and my secretary..... I had a good laugh out of it too.....

I loved your post, I remember when I realized my thighs no longer touched, there was a period of time, no matter how I stood they would not touch.  Sadly they filled back in a bit, but mostly they still don't touch with my feet together...  enjoy!

I loved the 'dents' in the ankles, I had these very strange bones sticking out the outer side of my knees when I sat a certain way, they were huge and it looked so weired....  I had never seen them before...

Great story aobut what happened at work.  You must feel fantastic, congrats!

All the best,

Cindy
