Well the really hard part is over.  Now I have to take it one day at a time.  I feel pretty good.  Shocked most people that I would be up and about so much.  My biggest problems were the doctors giving me too much pain meds so I actually didn't take them so my stomach wouldn't be as upset.   My tummy feels different, but no real pain. Looking forward to the next couple weeks to fly by.   Movement is restricted and that is tough for me.  But I'm managing.

Looking forward to a shower this afternoon.  Why is it hospitals make you feel so icky?

I'm right there with you -- I was sleeved on the 13th, too.  I couldn't wait to get up this morning and shower.  I feel much better today than yesterday, so I'm thinking I'll be feeling pretty good by the weekend.

I have a weird feeling in my stomach, too.  It's not really pain and not really hunger.  That's the only way I can really tell I had surgery while I'm sitting down.  I'm able to sip fluids really well today and just ate (very slowly) a small jello cup, which is more than I could do yesterday.

Everyone at the hospital was shocked that I was up and around so much as well.  I am thankful for all the advice I received here about walking.  It really has helped with the gas pains -- mine are almost gone.

I'm happy to hear that you are doing so well, too!  I know there were several others with surgery dates this week and I'm looking forward to hearing from them as well.

Its weird, my mind is hungry but my stomach isn't.  I'm just sipping away.  Having difficulty with the insurance company approving nexium (I do have some heart burn)  Otherwise I'm good.

Getting up and down is a little tricky but I'm figuring that out too.

Well good luck, let's keep in touch and compare notes.

Both of you are encouraging me with 5 days left before surgery! I am praying and claiming that this will be my testimony as well!

Good Luck!  I won't say that it isn't scary because it is but it isn't as bad as your mind is making it out to be.

Follow your doctors instructions and you will be fine.  My only advice would be if you can't tolorate pain meds make sure they give you something for nausea before hand.

Keep us posted
