My 36 f  can hold a cup and a half, that 16 oz your talking about at least twice a day.
In the morning with my green smoothie and then one more time during the day
with food depending on what I eat.  If I eat veggies,  well then yes no problem.
If it is chicken, I can eat or do eat 6 oz plus a side dish.

My surgeon said,  I would eat a more normal lifestyle and may get there slower but will get
there.  What I mean by normal and you have commented on this before,  Is being at a social setting blending in with my peers rather than eating a tiny bit and being noticed or MOST IMPORTANTLY having head issues of how I wish i could eat more.  Its not even a thought  of wishing I could eat more, or look at me and what I am doing, ( self centeredness) and i am completely satisfied. I blend.....

My thing is to not exceed the volume I am eating.  ( that is eating under my sleeves capacity for me)  However I could not eat a cup and a half of mash potatoes nor do I want to try to!
I  love how I eat and what i eat.
I actually enjoy food now.

I dont eat recreational sugar and I do consider myself eating some of
the cleaner foods around here.  I believe food can heal the body.

Glad you posted this frisco. I too agree that the surgeon you pick is crucial. I have seen people pay for surgeons that were twice as expensive as mine with a small fraction of the expertise and it baffels me. Better to save up and travel to the best than settle or go for a "deal". My $12,500 plus travel expenses for dr Jossart was worth every penny!
I only hope others have the excellent care that we both experienced with our doctors. Lucky you to live so close to yours!

Not true,
My surgeon is very well experienced and just uses a 36f ewald tube.
I totally know how it feels to have a larger sleeve and can relate to a lot of
people here.

However, you may have a point with some newer surgeons out there.  Just not
all surgeons that use a bigger bougie make them bad surgeons.

Cheers!

I don't doubt you have a good surgeon..... I wasn't trying to get into another bougie size debate.....

What I was trying to point out is that a lot of problems from trying to make a small sleeve has to do with making it to narrow at the middle of the curve because that is where the measuring device is gonna be snugged up naturally.

I'm just gonna guess here.......The ewald tube is very flexible and might be why your surgeon uses it.

Its a good thing you post your concerns...  I just wish you did before my surgery....  lol
I had no clue what a bougie was until after my surgery.  The time I spent here on OH
nobody talked about it for those few months.

I wish I had a smaller sleeve, and have learned to accept where I am at.  32.34.36  seem to be the average size sleeves they give.   I have to admit I wish i was the smallest.  I just want everyone to have this conversation with their surgeon....   What size bougie am I getting?   How many surgeries have you done?  How long have you been doing bariactric surgeries. How many complications have you experienced? I asked the 3 out of 4.

Thanks to you Frisco, I went in with my list of questions for my surgeon. Again thank you!
I know i know I am talking about bougies when your talking about quackie surgeons.

So,  How do we know if we have a Quackie surgeon before surgery is the question.
What are some of the things we can look out for?

Frisco,  you made me a FANTASTIC LIST of questions, for me,  for my surgeon.
What are some of the things you can suggest for the Pre-OPs to ask their surgeons?
