Sleep Lab

I had my sleep lab Sunday night.  I don't need a comorbidity but because I'm always so tired I really thought I had severe apnea.  I mean I sleep 8-9 hours every night and regularly take a 1-2 hour nap during the week.  BUT, if I have it the tech said it is very light but I won't find out for sure until next week.  he did say that my legs move CONSTANTLY while I'm sleeping and that it wakes me up.  So it could be the restless leg syndrome I've had since a child is what makes it hard for me to feel rested.  Again won't find out until I talk to the Dr. next week.

So I'm sort of upset by not having apnea.  I know it is dangerous and it is good for my health that I don't have it BUT it was fixable (through weight loss and a cpap).  I was really looking forward to feeling rested after a nights sleep.  Now, who knows I may always feel tired and there's nothing they can do. . .  So I guess all in all good news and bad news.

Hi,

Unlike you I failed the sleep study dismally, LOL.  So I go to bed each night with my snorkel gear on. Should have seen the dog the first time she saw me in that.  Have you ever been started on any medications for the restless legs?  If not maybe think about doing that.  It is amazing how much better a decent night of sleep will do for your outlook.  Having all the preop stuff done was very enlightening for me and maybe will be for you.  There were things I thought were a problem that were not and discovered problems that I was not aware I had.  Guess it shows how out of tune with ourselves we can get. Good luck with your journey.
