Still feeling discouraged

I went for my 2 month post op checkup with my surgeon and I am down 36 lbs in 2 months. My Dr. says that it is not unreasonable for me to lose 20% of my weight but he thinks that I should have lost more. The scales are weird to me though, I weigh at home the scale says 280, I weigh at my primary care doctor her scale is the old school scale not digital and her scale says 282. I went to his scale which is digital and it says 285 but I had shoes on, I think that I should have lost more also and I think that I know what it is, I still am not able to keep myself on a schedule breakfast,snack,lunch snack,dinner,snack, and eating every 3 hrs. I know that is bad and that is slowing down my metabolism. I am going to the gym about 3 times a week. But starting today I have my phone go off every 3 hrs to remind me to EAT! Does anyone have any other suggestions.

Are you making your protein and fluid goal?

I would go back and look at your tracking devise day by day to see if you're doing that----
-----Protein----whatever your surgeon's plan requires (>60 or 70 g???)
-----Fluids----more than 64 oz. ---maybe up that number to 80 oz?  Fluid helps.
-----Then I would look at your carb numbers---again whatever your NUT recommends or < 40 g.

That's where I would start .

PS----None of my scales match either (PCP, surgeon, gym, home) but they're all within 5 pounds.

What is with these doctors and their unreasonable expectations? Id smack any doctor who said something to me like that about 36 lbs in 2 months. If you had lost 10 lbs or something, maybe a comment would be warranted, but sheesh.

I hate hate hate that you feel so bad about 36lbs in 2 months.  It's one thing to want more for yourself- go for it- but to feel so discourage is just plain sad.

First of all, if your scale is good, stick with it.  I don't care at all about my doctor's scale. I know I weigh first thing in the morning after the bathroom and with very little clothes on.  My doctor appointments are always later in the day.  So, unless your scale is a problem, then focus on your scale.

Second, yes, make sure you are follwoing the rules.  Have you started exercising? My 3rd month was better than my 2nd month because of exercise. Sure, feel free to step it up.

Third, celebrate your loss and celebrate compliance and other lifestyle changes.

Just imagine how much weight you will have lost by the time you get to 6 month outs.

Hold your head up, keep working at it, and rock it.

I appreciate it! Yes I have been started exercising 3x a week. Even stepped it up on the elyptical machine to 15 min now! Before I was winded and tired after 5 min! I am happy that I have came this far! Love to see the results after 6 mos out!

 Hugs - you are doing well - but you do want to get on the schedule!  The phone is an excellent idea.  Once you get on a schedule, you will really just feel that it's time to eat.  I don't really get hungry, but my body just knows that it's time and I eat.  Make sure you are getting your fluids too (that's the worst part for me, because after I eat I feel so full, I can't drink for an hour or so!)
