12 days out -- it's slowing down!

Morning everyone! I'm now 12 days post op and up until 3 days ago I had been losing 1-2 pounds a day. It has crawled to a screeching halt. Half a pound or less per day, now. I'm getting in my protein and most days meeting my fluid requirement. Hardly ever room for any soups or other calorie liquids. This may be my first stall? Either way, any tips on how many calories I should be consuming at this stage? I'm afraid my body will go into starvation mode. I know for a fact I  am nowhere near 600. More like 300 on a GOOD day.

Dont worry your weight loss is not slowing down. You have not even started yet. What you saw was a big drop in water weight, and that cant continue. Your body has to heal from surgery before you even worry about weight loss. Just take it easy and stay off the scale.

At 12 days out, 300 cal is what I was cosuming - i managed that while on liquids. Once I hit pureed stage, I went up to about 450 and by the end of the 4 weeks of pureed, id be lucky to get more than 500--550. Once I started solids, it took me a while to progress to eating more than 600 cal. By 3 months though, I was able to eat about 700+ calories a day.

Youre doing fine - just stay away from the scale!

Thank you for the reassurance! I'll give it a rest on the scale for a bit. =) What was your physical activity level around this time?

Oh, getting in and out my recliner

I attempted to go back to work after 10 days, and couldn't do it. I managed about 4 hours of sitting at my desk before I called it quits, and took another week off lol.

Everyone weight loss is different, but that being said....it is very normal to have these temporary set backs in weight loss.  Your body has went through and is going through tremendous changes and it is adjusting to these changes.
Stick to your program and make sure you get in all your protein and fluids and you will certainly see that scale move....trust me!!!
Best wishes to you!
