TMI but oh well!
BC should not cause these symptoms, it is supposed to regulate your cycles and hormone levels not dry you out. but different pills could have different effects on the body. Check with your gynecologist. did you tell him/her about your surgery before going on the pill? I would guess that the combination of surgery and starting new bc could potentially cause weird symptoms.
thats exactly what I was thinking, but I did tell my Gyno about the surgery before she rx the pill and Ive told her about the effects that Im having now. I have an appt next week to discuss it further and review test results. So Im hoping that were able to fix this thing cause its causeing some strain on my relationship! Ughhhh
I def think it is hormonal probably from losing all the weight quickly. If you look at it biologically, women who were undernourished or during periods of famine would have decreased sex drives because their body could not support a fetus. Basically your body thinks it's famine season and therefore does not want you reproducing. Give it time, your sex drive will come back and it should be better than ever. I hope this helps.
Hormonally, everything is wacked out after surgery & the rapid weight loss changes our bodies....us females seem to really suffer here...with the crazy periods, long periods, short periods, missed periods, etc... the sex drive can be more and it can be less & can fluctuate between extremes, the yeast infections....it all seems to be very common....
Until the weight stabilizes, things might be off....but I've heard it does go back to normal....
What I can tell you is this...get yourself on a probiotic, take 1-2 a day without fail, eat a yogurt a day....and also try to stay off antibiotics unless really needed....if you do take antibiotics, ask for Diflucan (2 pills)....only way to combat yeast issues, the creams suck and do not work well at really getting rid of it....and regarding dryness, that's what those lubes are for...LOL...
Good luck...things will get better...& the weight loss will be worth it....(I doubt it is the BC pill, but if so, switch pills).....also tell your partner to be patient, it's only temporary.... :)

Your not alone... I've noticed changes since surgery too! I think its just our bodies trying to adjust to our new lifestyles. Add in the lack of energy we get and its a recipe for disaster!!

Wow! Wish I could help you but I bet you will notice after you get this straightened out that your sex drive goes way UP! Some women do have to try different brands of BC before they find one that works well with their body. Your gyn may suggest a different method than pills. Dryness is a classic symptom of hormones screwed by the pill. Also dryness can make it easier for a yeast infection to get started. Hope you find a method that works for you soon.
