Went to my 3 hour orientation... feel a little overwhelmed... somehow I didn't connect that 12/5 is right around the corner... literally!!  Been heading to this point since May 26.  I've been told that I'm taking the "easy" way out... nothing easy about this.  I am so thankful for the support and dialogue that this forum provides.

Have a great Thanksgiving!!!

Yay! I know how you feel! Things are starting to feel surreal. My surgery is next Wednesday. I'll be having my Thanksgiving at the hospital but it's more than worth it to me.
When people claim it's the "easy way out", I feel it's the smart way out! Yo-yo dieting is bad on your heart. I don't know about you but I've lost and gained so much weight. Finally a tool that can actually make weight loss within reach!

Oh, that is one of my post surgical jokes that always make me laugh--the easy way out! A common line for nonsurgical folks!

You are perfectly normal; you are taking a big risk and doing something that certain parts of society says isn't necessary and you should be able to do on your own. Listen to your gut and your heart. You have been planning this since May 26th and nothing should stop you now unless you get to the day of and feel this isn't for you right now.

Best of luck to you, continue to come on the message board for support and have a blessed Thanksgiving!

yeah there is nothing easy about this whole process i just had my surgery on tuesday i feel great actually right now im two days post op and the only hard part i had was last night when i finally realized that i hadnt prepared myself for the seperation from food at all before my surgery i knew why i ate and stuff like that but this surgery forces your relationship with food to change forever which kinda freaked me out last night but today im ready for the rest of the journey youll do fine, just remember to walk walk walk and youll have an easy recovery... the sooner you get up the sooner that gas can start leaving your body... good luck!!!

WOW!! It is right around the corner. My date has been moved up to the 1st.... Started my 2 week liquid diet today... After today I can say for sure this is not the easy way out.... Liquid diet without restriction. I am hungry, but this day is almost done. Best wishes and see you on the loser bench soon.
