I eat out, and generally order something healthy from the app menu as an entree is just to large. Shrimp ****tail is always a great standby, seared ahi tuna.. softer is easier, early out. My stomach handled all meats fine once I was cleared, so even a chicken Cesar salad, picking the chicken off of it works if nothing on the app menu is healthy (i.e. not served in a potato skin!)

I also ordered ala cart often and never had a place refuse an order, even if it was not specified on the menu.. I asked for an egg over easy and one sausage patty at a breakfast place.. managed to eat about half of both at 6 weeks or so out.. so that's a possibility. Good luck!

At about 6 weeks out....

- I would keep it soft and wet.....

- Eat slow and slower towards the end....

- Eat way under your capacity....Add a feeding if you have to....

Your new sleeve is going to be exposed to new ingredients that you don't know if you can tolerate yet. Fat levels, spices etc.

Having issues on the road is the worst.......

Bring items with you that you know works for you. You may be able to just go to a grocery store and pick up some of your normal things just like at home. I did some International travel early out (not 6 weeks....more like 3 months) and packed some things with me.

Things I commonly travel with....more so early out during WL.....now in maintenance not so critical.

- Hawaiian Punch Brand Powdered Singles (sugar free and single serving for bottled water) many brands available.

- Meds/Vites packed in two places....just in case a bag gets lost.

- Protein bars.....I like Pure Protein Bars any flavor.

- Some people travel with Protein Powder.....I bring pre-mixed or buy it at the destination.

- Glad brand Ziplock Freezer Bags...the small ones. Not the thin ones or the Jippo Off Brands.

- Camping stores like REI sell camping utensils....I keep a set in my shaving bag....Mine are Titanium....Super Trick.

Most hotels have an in room refer....only some have microwaves.

The Ziplocks work well for left overs to keep in the fridge or a cooler and they take a little bit of microwaving. That's why you want the good heavy ones....the Jippo ones don't micro very well.

Another reason for the Ziplocks.... If there is no micro in your room..... you can heat up food in the sink under ho****er.

As for eating out.... at 6 weeks I would stay away from chicken breast. Chicken breast is one of the last proteins that should re entered into your diet. It just has a way of not moving through your system very easy. Remember...your on the road away from your comfort zone.....
Wet soft fish....soups.....tofu....cheeses.....slow cooked wet meats.....
Your trip is only a couple of days so you really shouldn't run into any major issues. It would be fine to get more of your protein in from supplements than trying to attempt unknown dense proteins.

Hope this helps....

I travel often for work.  My first trip post op was at about 5 weeks out.  I took protein powder with me and mixed it with bottled water when I needed it.  I also took some tuna pouches (you can buy them ready to eat at the store) and string cheese along.

When eating out at restaurants, I chose baked fish because it is soft and moist.

I think you are doing well by researching ahead of time and figuring out your best options.  It is totally doable and you should be fine.
