Time to be HONEST!
I hosted the Thanksgiving dinner this year, so I did all the cooking & cleaning. Even though I never got myself a plate & sat down to eat, I was tasting the dishes as I prepared them and then spent too much time nibbling on leftovers as I put them away.
The sad result? I gained 2 lbs over Thanksgiving! The good news is that I lost them again (plus one extra) the next day by just eating protein only, with no carbs.

I actually did pretty good on the food, but the wine killed me way to many carbs and calories (but OHH soo good). I did exercise, and stuck to plan for the most part. I am up 3lbs, but I know it's water (happnes same time every month LOL).
Just going to drink my water and run my C25K and not worry about it, the numbers will show the truth in a few days!

Didnt lose or gain. I enjoyed a little of everything I wanted to eat: roast beef, turkey stuffing, green beans beats mac and cheesee, cranberry sauce, rice w/shrimp. A spoonful of everything and still had food left on my plate. Didnt go back for any more. I had a couple of glasses of wine. Deserts, on the other hand....I had a slice (yes, a whole slice) of chocolate fudge cheesecake and some banana pudding.
The day after Thanksgiving I picked a leftovers (I said I wouldnt bring any home, but I was weak) and ended up making myself sick. I started to foam and then blew chunks. after that, I threw the leftovers away and continued on to business as usual. I did have a slice of Sweet Potato pie on Sunday though....

I tracked everything. My downfall is my homemade apple pie. It is so good! When eating my Thanksgiving meal, I made sure to eat my protein first. I only put a teaspoon of my favorite foods on a small plate to eat after the turkey. My sleeve, it turns out, has an aversion to turkey. After eating dinner, I threw everythink up! I had stopped eating when I started to get that full feeling, but apparently I did not stop soon enough. With that said, I tried to eat leftover turkey over the next couple of days and found that I could only eat 1 to 1.5 ounces at a time--if I ate any more I would feel the need to throw up. So, for me, over Thanksgiving, I lost 3.6 lbs to date.
I still have half an apple pie in my fridge! It has to be thrown away! I just can't do it! It is so good. I am being good and only had 1/16th of a slice twice over the last 4 days. I will ask my husband to throw it away. He doesn't like apple pie--lucky *******!
Self-control, self-control, self-control. . .

I'm sure most if not all of that is water.. it would be hard to get enough in to gain that much fast.. salt is my downfall too, I hear you on water retention..
I did good, (give cred to my sleeve, not me!).. and thankful my folks don't read on here.. 'cause here goes..
My parents don't cook well. There. So nothing really tempted me for seconds later.
That said, I did nibble on some deep fried turkey skin (crack).. then had my ounce of meat, a few T of stuffing, bit of sweet potatoes, green bean casserole... and itty bitty sliver of pumpkin pie (ate the filling, don't like crust unless it's good home-made, this wasn't).. and drank my share of wine.. and managed to wake up .5lb lighter. But, IF there had been nibbles out, I would have been nibbling.. as I planned for it and had only had protein drinks prior.. but no nibbles..
My major challenge will be NYE. I have two parties to attend the same night, plus another group of friends rented a big lodge in the woods with a hot tub that weekend, so we'll be going there the next day and continuing the party.. all these folks (all my friends in general~!) are big time good cooks and foodies/boozies.. making their own beer & hard cider.. thankfully, all are carnivores and do some great things with meat.. if I can avoid the treats I'll be good.. but we got some great dessert queens in the bunch~!

I am in the hell of waiting to hear about my approval and date...so let's just say the past week has been a mess with food. That being said, even so called "normal" eaters put on a pound or two at this time and take if off just as quick when they go back to their "normal" so we all of you (as for me...well that'll happen when I get sleeved in a few weeks!) God willing...say a prayer for me! I'm all nerves.
If I'm being honest......
I "acquired" about 80 packs of Splenda and Sweet and Low from Starbucks when I got coffee......
I hate buying that stuff in the store !!!!
