Ice cream lovers

Kelleybell,
this is an uncommon thing that does happen to some sleevers, myself included.  I was sweaty, lightheaded, dizzy, nauseous.  But in time, it did improve, and now I never have it happen unless I go completely overboard with the fatty sweets, like full fat ice creams.  So chin up!  You might be able to enjoy ice cream again, at least the lighter ones.  Coldstone still makes me sick if I have more than just a few spoonfuls!

Skinny Cow is a GREAT choice. I agree with RHCP that said she'd rather have the real thing and Skinny Cow tastes like the real thing. I bet that Artic one is full of who-knows-what. I've had a bite or two of ice cream while losing, just if the kids have and I want a taste. I refuse to fully indulge until this weight is GONE, but I'll have a little here and there. It's all about following your rules you and your surgeon have set for you.

Surprisingly, the ingredients aren't that bad. For their strawberry flavor:

INGREDIENTS: PURIFIED WATER, WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, ORGANIC CANE SUGAR, CHICORY ROOT, STRAWBERRIES, GUAR GUM, XANTHAN GUM, BEET JUICE FOR COLOR, CITRIC ACID, SEA SALT, MONK FRUIT CONCENTRATE.

That isn't too bad! I would give that to my kids (and I am very particular about what I give to them LOL).

I bought the kids one of those toss around ice cream makers, the kind you fill up and then play catch with and it makes icecream (you can also google ziplock homemade icecream for a cheaper way to do it LOL), and about once a week I throw my protien shake in there and turn it into "ice cream", I use almond milk, vanilla protien poweder and Toriani sugar free syrups to give it diffrent flavors, totally kills my craving withoug breaking my calorie/carb bank!

I'm not the type of person who can have just a little bit of the real thing. I've always batled compulsive overeating, and I didn't have any surgery on my brain, so...a little bit of the real thing only makes me want MORE!

Surprisingly, the ingredients on these are actually "all natural." Here is the ingredient list for the strawberry flavor (pint):

INGREDIENTS: PURIFIED WATER, WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, ORGANIC CANE SUGAR, CHICORY ROOT, STRAWBERRIES, GUAR GUM, XANTHAN GUM, BEET JUICE FOR COLOR, CITRIC ACID, SEA SALT, MONK FRUIT CONCENTRATE.

I would give it a try, but I wouldn't hold high hopes for the flavor or texture to be quite like real ice cream...but that doesn't mean it might not be a yummy snack, anyway, just not a perfect ice cream replacement.

heh, also, looks like about $7 per pint is the average going rate! So, not an everyday treat...at least not for tightwads like me!

I have a pint of Blue Bell sugar free vanilla in the freezer. I don't eat it very often, but if I'm craving a dessert, I will have a fourth a cup and it satisfies me.
