Mushees - Pls help me under eat my sleeve

I just started the mushie phase and I'm having problems sensing when I've had enough.  I kinda messed up tonight by eating too much puréed chili. It was a combination of the spice and quantity (1/2 cup). As a reference, I can eat 2/3 of a scrambled egg, 2oz hummus, 4 oz cream of wheat.  But tonight's dinner had me nauseous for about an hour.

Please share some guidance so I can learn how to eat properly. I wanna rock my sleeve!

Thanks!

I would try eating 1/3c see how that makes you feel.
Just make sure you measure everything.
I put my fork down between bites, sit my plate almost a foot back on the table that way it's more time consuming and thought provoking for one bite.
I've had the moment where one bit makes a difference to me being satisfied and way overfilled. Just listen to your body, watch for full signs

The easy answer is to eat less than you did when you felt bad!  Honestly, it was hard for me to predict how much was enough early out.  I hardly ever ate more than and ounce or two when I was starting mushies.  Especially if it's protein-y, I would err on the light side.

I ate a little bit 5 times a day, plus drinking my protein.  Don't pu**** you're healing.  Hope this helps!

The best advice I was given was to stop when u start burping, and it has proven true for me.  If I start burping and keep going, I am going to feel bad.  It gets better, when I furst started on soft foods about 2/3 of an egg would have me feeling bad.  Now I eat two eggs as a meal.

I'm 5 months out.. and I find that I still can't eat more than 2 to 3 ounces of most foods without feeling icky. Granted, I was on TPN for 2+ months and didn't get to eat anything, so my stomach may not be as mature as some people at the same place I am- but my suggestion to you would be to measure things. 1/2 cup seems like a really lot if you're just getting to mushies. I wasn't supposed to have more than 1/4 when I first started eating. I'd start there... if you're finding that you're never satisfied, consider increasing your portions.

I am seven months out and still generally eat about 1/4 of a cup of soft/mushy foods at a time. If I'm eating dense mushies (like tuna or salmon salad) more often than not I eat less than 1/4 of a cup.

There are times I want more but I have been undereating my sleeve since I started all of this and plan to continue that trend.

Forgot to add, I am a Nazi about waiting between bites. I literally time two minutes between each bite I take during a meal. I also time exactly how long until I can have liquids after I'm done eating.

Giving myself two full minutes gives me the time to decide if I am full or not, whether I need more or not.

I think measuring is important. I still do, even though I've been at goal for 6 months. It's not good to eat until you are full, because sometimes you eat too much before you realize you are full. If 1/2 cup is too much, try 1/4 or 1/3. Don't go back for seconds. Just eat what you measured out on your plate. The density of the food makes a big difference in the quantity you can eat. I could eat a 6 oz container of yogurt months ago, but can still only eat 3 oz of chicken or 2 oz of beef.
