HUSBAND DOUBTING MY DECISION

An aunt of mine had her entire stomach removed back in the 70's (she was in her 40's) because of a rare syndrome. Zollinger-Ellison, to be exact. Surgeons made a little 'pouch' out of her intestines. She lived nearly 40 more years, eating very little and taking supplements. She was fairly healthy, working until retirement age, but eventually her illness caused problems that couldn't be treated at her advancing age.

A couple of things stand out when I think of her. She was very tiny, eating very little at a time, and she was always cold. Even when everyone else was sweating, she always had a sweater.

My thoughts as an up-coming VSG'er? Take out (most of) my tummy, and pass me a sweater!!!

Thanks everyone.  I read these to my husband and he is a bit more at ease and I think he really knows how much this means to me now.  I hope this journey brings us closer together as husband and wife.
