Protein Water! Help anyone drink these??
So I had my month post surgery "transition class" yesterday and the dietician was talking about protein waters as a substitute for protein shakes. I've just about had it with 3 shakes a day and want to start eating more foods (now that I can) with protein so I was excited about trying the protein waters.
She suggested Protein Blitz and Cytomax as "client favorites" so when I found them yesterday at the vitamin shoppe I was so excited to try! WELL.............they are HORRIBLE!! They taste like cough syrup. I even diluted them with 1/2 water and they were still SOOO SWEET! Couldn't believe these were the "favorites" out of all of the options out there. She said that the least favorite is the ISOPURE so I didn't bother getting that brand but wondering now if I would like it better then these 2 brands?
What's your favorite??? I want to find one I like that I could eventually buy by the case.
Thanks so much for your help!!

Just looked up the Special K Protein Water and its only 5 grams of protein per 16.9 oz. serving. I think I'd rather find something that has more protein per serving.
Palitable protein drinks are very challenging indeed and subjective to your personal preferance.
You just have to keep searching to find what you like and even then when you find something you like its not unusual to get sick of them from repeated use.
5g of protein without fat or sugar is still 5g of protein. While folks are early out and focusing on hydration,, it's an extra 5g bonus as opposed say crystal light or plain water which have none.
I'm far enough out that I can get most of my protein from food. An extra 5g that I can put into my afternoon bottle of water may put me from 75 to 80g for the day.
