Does revision sleevers, have less restriction, than first timers? Also, when are we able to eat fruit, such as melons, and apples? I am 4weeks out.

I don't know the answer to the first question but as for fruit....it has lots of carbs.
Keep your carbs under 40 grams per day.

You can add fruit when you get to your weight loss goal.
The better you stick to the plan the faster you get there.

Then you can start adding carbs (in your case fruit ) 100 calories at a time until you know how much you can eat to maintain your weight.

How is your restriction? On you at the mushie stage or on to solids/proteins?
How much do you eat at one time?

I can eat solids and protein, my doctor wants me to drink about 30 grams and eat the rest. I can eat about 5small shrimp and about 3-4 broccoli florets. Sometimes about an hour later I feel like I can eat more, but don't. Also when is the best time to drink my protein drink. I usually feel the urge to snack at night, so I was thinking maybe drinking it at night to kill that urge. Please help. I have lost about 25lbs since my surgery on 1/3/12. Is that right, or should I have lost more?

Your weight loss is going fine.
do you weigh your protien?
How many oz is 5 small shrimp?
that's kinda important. Weight rather than how many.

You seem to be doing fine but here are a few tips to help you get along:

don't eat until your sleeve protests. instead weigh your food and only eat 2.5 oz of protein at each meal. You will still feel full.

If you need to have a snack try, low fat cheese sticks,
cut them up and microwave them until they are crispy about 1.5 minutes give or take. Or look on this board for ideas for healthy snacking.

Drink your water

start to exercize daily...just a little bit but, every day to make it a habit. It takes your mind off food and gives your brain something else to think about.

Remember, right now you are trying to LOSE weight. Eventually, you will be trying to maintain your weight. Thats when you can start thinking about adding more foods to your daily food intake.

It's the same old weight loss game, just a lot easier with the sleeve.

good luck,
donna

You have really made my night. Thank you so much for the words of encouragement and motivation. I started walking right after surgery, but tonight I started aqua zumba and it was great. I will buy a scale tomorrow, and weigh my food appropriately. Thanks again.

I tried your idea about the cheese stick and it worked out great, thanks. Now I can eat the cheese stick my wife bought for me.

You should ask your surgeon when you can eat fresh fruit.  I *think* I was allowed at six weeks, but I'm not sure because I didn't actually try any until very recently.  By the time I eat my protein and have a few bites of veggies, I have no room for other food.  One dinner recently I cut up cantaloupe instead of a vegetable and did have a few bites - kind of a nice change.  But overall I agree that fruit has too much sugar to be a regular part of the weight loss phase.

Restriction depends on surgeons technique and also your own anatomy, it is however possible for a revision that is done all in one step to have less restriction due to the swelling from removing or taking down the previous procedure and the scar tissue that the doctor has to work around to make your new stomach.

I don't eat fruit and I am 6 months out, too many carbs and sugars.
