ok... so, i'm trying protein shakes... sumone pls tell me they get better!?!?!? I tried the premier advantage RTD and they were not good, but tolerable... this am i used body fortress chocolate peanut butter... sorry for TMI but it's horrible and I want to puke!!! I have multiple other ones ordered from online & should be here soon, but really!? all the technology we have... this is the best we can do :-( ..... I guess I'm just really discouraged because i've seen so many ppl post all the shakes n how they like them and I know they're gonna be a huge part of my life for atleast the next few mos... probably longer.... Can sumone pls tell me they r an aquired taste!?

I am about 5 months pre-op, but I'm starting to sample protein shakes so I can get used to them.

I made the Nectar, Vanilla Bean Torte by Syntrax and it tastes just like a milkshake.  I think I used too much skim milk though because it was a tad thinner than I imagine it is supposed to be.

Good luck!

The Nectars are a little thinner then other shakes, so you probably didn't do anything wrong!

I'm on my two week pre op liquid diet and me and protein shakes have seriously been battling it out. HOWEVER, just this morning I went and saw my NUT (I work at the same hospital that I'm having surgery so she easily accessible) and asked her if she had any suggestions on how to get them down easier and she gave me a sample of the Chocolate ProEnergy by EnergyFirst and it was actually REALLY good! I was so surprised because I'm on day 10 of my pre op diet and every one I've tried so far has made me nauseous. Try it out!

Instead of shakes, I went with Isopure.  40 GRAMS of 100% whey protein in every bottle with
ZERO carbs, and it's not a shake--it's clear-based.  The flavors are tropical punch, apple, rasberry, etc.  It's like drinking kool-aid, only with no sugar and MUCH better for you.

BigDaddyD,

I need to buy some of the clear Isopure for my first couple of post op days. Which ones were your favorite? Do you refrigerate them before you drink them?

Don't buy a ton of the Isopure, try both that and the Cytomax before you buy a ton, somepeople LOVE one and HATE the other, and you won't know which one you are until you taste it LOL
