seriously considering changing goal weight at 14 months post-op
Hi Jennifer! Great to meet you!
First let me say, congrats on your weight loss! I was actually just poking around on OH as I haven't been on here for months and your post was the first I read. I think you have done a wonderful job losing that much weight!
Take a moment to pat yourself on the back! Yay!!!
Okay, I too had the surgery ( 6 months ago) and I have stalled a bit as well. Mine however is due to poor eating habits and stress (that's another story). I do know however, when I dieted on my own without the surgery and managed to lose 100 lbs, I would stall as well. My body got comfortable with the amount of calories consumed and burned. My boyfriend who's a semi-professional body builder would always say, "switch it up! shock the body!" I would always balk at his suggestion to eat a burger or have a slice of pizza but when I broke down and tried it, it did work. I had to shock my body with something a little higher in calories in order for it to kick in and actually BURN them. When I stalled (generally after losing 10-12 lbs) I would have a slice or a burger or something and that would do it.
This is just my suggestion. Perhaps someone else can suggest something else that might work better for you. Either way, I hope that you get those last ten lbs off! I'm around your measurements (5'3 - currently 180, was 251 pre-op) and I always say I haven't been that small since I was a child! It would be lovely to see that number!! LOL!
Best of luck to you and have a blessed day!
Warmest Regards,
Tiffinay

Maybe you could just for ****s and giggles track your calories and see where they are? Remember if you were say 185 and consuming 1000 calories and you are currently 135 and still consuming 1000 calories for YOUR body it would be to much. As we lose weight many of us lose the need for so many calories and have to reduce. This is for SOME not all but if nothing else has worked it's worth a shot.

MS Shell, you are so right about calorie counting! I've thought about doing that (and did so for "a minute"). My dietitian said (and please read this: I realize they're not always right) not to worry about counting calories as long as I ate 40 or less carbs.
You know I'm in denial. I feel that with working out so hard, and watching carbs it should just melt off. Sigh.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Sometimes NUTS (nutritionists) are right and sometimes they are just plain NUTS ya know. Because many regurgitate the SAME information for everyone regardless of if they've had WLS or not.
It's NO one size fits all...you just have to find YOUR size. You can do it Jennifer it's just going to take a lot of effort to find what works for you. Much success.
