9 Months Post Op!
I know how you feel about diabetes and you are right on! Our situations are similar. My biological mother was diabetic and died at 53 a few weeks ago. I found out I was diabetic in August and I weighed about 220 at 5'4" and I'm only 35 when I found out so you did the right thing. It could have hit you at any moment and that is the true reality. I was pretty surprised. I am a "lightweight" too but I knew I needed surgery to help me with this battle with diabetes and weight. You did the right thing and I'm very happy for you on your amazing success!
I'm only 3 pounds more than what you said people called "light weight". And I know just what you are talking about. I have diabetes type 2, hypertension, an enlarged heart caused from the hypertension, I have had a stroke back in 1998. I have arthritis in my knees, and suffer from sleep apnea. Those are just a few of the many things that have gone wrong with my body from carrying this excess load of weight. My surgery is just 8 days away and I hope that I can hit goal as quickly as you did. You definitely made the right decision! YOU GO GIRL!!!

I feel like the VSG was the best gift I ever could've gotten. We all will have our own sleeve experience but OH is a special community where you can come and share and feel like someone understands where you are coming from.
