I started both the day after I was discharged from the hospital.  I take a 30mg Prevacid and Bariatric Fusion chewable vitamins.  I have to take 4 a day so I chew 2 of them at one time in the morning and 2 at night.

The prevacid I started taking on a tiny spoon of applesauce on day 3 along with another daily medicine that I take.  The chewable vitamins I started about 4 days later.

I started on Nexium the day after surgery, dissolved in water.  Blecchh!  I put up with that for about 10 days, then decided that if it dissolves quickly in water in a cup, it will in my stomach, so I started taking them whole.  Never looked back.  (However, Nexium didn't keep working, and I went thru a few PPIs before landing on Protonix.)

I started on vitamins when I started on regular food, so 30 days after surgery.  All my vites, iron, calcium, and so on are chewable, still, at 19 months out, LOL!  I do take a biotin capsule, and a probiotic capsule.  Everything else is a wafer, chewy thing, or gummy (Vit. D).  I never counted calories in vites, BTW, except calcium, and only counted calcium because I wanted my online tracking program, SparkPeople, to keep track of it for me, so I would supplement whatever I get in food up to 1500 mg.  (I'm now up to 2000 mg.)  So the calories in the Bariatric Advantage chewy bites get included in my overall calorie count, 15 calories each for 250 mg.
