My dr and NUT cleared me for full liquids(ill be 2 wks out in 2 days) sent me home with a paper, I look at it when I got home and all it said was full liquids... Grrr... Can I blend up like soups and eat it? Or is that my blended diet in 2 more wks? I know on my blended diet it says I dont have to blend soft foods so im assuming thats my mushies stage. I ate a yogurt earlier.. Dont know if I was supposed to or not but it went down fine and I did fine afterward. HELP?????!!

Full liquids were explained to me as creamy soups without chunks, yogurt, sugar free pudding, sugar free jello, broths, sugar free juices, protein shakes, popsicles, low cal fudge bars, etc.  i dont think you can blend chunky soups yet.  My data says wait until the mushy stage to eat soups with very soft chunks.  Im only on day five of my fulls and Im already bored with it!  Im trying all kinds of different soups though and enjoying that experiment.

Good luck!

Regina.  Ready to live again.

Full liquids is any kind of liquid food or drink, soups without chunks, creamy broth or any kind, just no chunks, any kind of drink, water, any juice, tea, even shakes, although I wouldn't try that right now. Yogurt is probably fine if it's not too thick, pudding should be fine too, popsicles, ice cream again not the best choice. Hope that helps broaden your choices.

According to my Dr and NUT, full liquids also include pureed food. They said I could have soups, yogurt, sf pudding and baby food if I wanted to. I'm on my 2nd week of full liquid and was so sick of the plain soups that I pureed some Manhattan Clam Chowder in my Magic Bullet and it was the best thing I've eaten in weeks.

... The cream of cauliflower soup in the Recipes Forum is very tasty ..... Not usually a fan of tofu but when it was all blended, it was very good. I'm getting tired of sweet things ....... Still on full fluids as well ......

My go-to was pureed lentil soup - very high in protein.  I even pureed beef stew and it was delicious!

I am 2 weeks out too but I was just put on pureed/mushies. Every doctor is different. I was on full liquids for the first 2 weeks. And I was allowed to have everything everyone said plus, thinned oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, cottage cheese... and as of yet I have never blended anything, plus they told me I dont have too. Good luck! Soups and cottage cheese were my go to for the full liquids.

I was given the directive that it needs to be able to go through a straw to count as a full liquid.  Well that and popsicles.

Yep that was me as well.  Full liquids had to be thin enough to be sucked through a straw (not literally since straws are off limits.....but you get the idea).

I survived this period on protein shakes, thinned greek yogurt, thinned cream soups, and broth.
