DOUBT - DOUBT - DOUBT

Give yourself a pat on the back for losing 16 lbs - that's a good start.  This is a very emotional process and trust me, I spent my share of days crying over it. I filed an appeal and when they denied it, it was not pretty. But - I always kept my goal in mind (which was ultimately to lose weight, not to have surgery) and kept on moving forward. What motivated me the most was to remember that the healthier the body is before surgery, the less likely you are to have complications - since I was scared of the surgery, I decided to minimize any risks as much as possible. That's just how I approached it, but we all have to find our own fire.

Keep your head up and realize that one day, you will get there ( and my first thought after surgery was "can I have my stomach back now!")

If you are free on Saturday, you should try and head out to Santa Monica to meet a wonderful group of healthy and awesome sleevers :)

Hang in there. I know the main reason things have slowed down through  Kaiser Fontana is because they are no longer sending anyone down to Pacific Bariatrics or Suh Bariatrics. With all these people going through classes and only 2 surgeons, they have really created longer wait times. I really think they should have waited to only go "in house" until the new hospital opened. It makes the waiting harder when you know that they essentially downsized the program while the number of people seeking surgery has been upsizing. That said, there is not much any of us Kaiser people can do but wait. Or, we can hope that a tree in the backyard will sprout money so we can self-pay LOL. Just keep posting. We are all here to help, pre-op & post op.

Waiting is the hardest part. My PCP had be do a 6 month diet program, then I had to do a ton of pre op tests before I could even get my referral to see the Dr. I got my referral to him January 3rd, consultation was Feb 7th, and my surgery date in April 11th. It's a loooong process but it's worth it. Hang in there. Time WILL fly by. I remember when I got my surgery date it was 47 days away and I was crushed and started crying. Now it's only 12 days away. You can do it. Don't let it get you depressed. It will happen, and it will be worth it! =)
