Protein Shakes? Meal Replacements?
I walked into the only local vitamin/health store and asked about protein powders. She asked if I meant meal replacement and I said yes, low carb, no artificial sweeteners.
She recommended Whey Protein Isolate, which I bought in vanilla flavor. I asked if there were any smaller packages so I could test taste, and she pointed out the Spirutein shakes. They have around 13 or 14 grams of protein. The WPI has 26 grams so is obviously better in that respect, but I did buy a few Spirutein packs just for variety.
Now I'm beginning to think that I wasn't supposed to get meal replacements, that "protein shakes" are no the same?
Help!

My trainer explained to me that "meal replacements" means that they have added vitamins/minerals/nutrients.

In my last appointment with my RD she advised to stay away from shakes that say meal replacement and to look for shakes/mixes that have at least 25g of protein and less than 5g of sugar per serving.
