Soft Foods - what works?

Hi there!! Yes! I had refried beans my second week and it was HEAVEN!! It made me full and happy to have something solid in my tummy. Just take it SLOW!! I am almost to week 3 and I have been eating green beans. Actually I made myself a 4 bean salad
but it's definitely harder to digest. But I love the taste!! It's the chewing and the full that I like!!
Hope that helps! Do you have a dietician that helps you?!? Maybe ask if refried are a good idea?

Whether or not you can have them depends on your doctor's plan. I had my surgery on April 10 and I was allowed to start purees on Day 11. I pureed some Rotel cilantro and lime tomatoes and then added them to some fat-free refried beans to thin them and then put the mixture in the food processor and pureed the whole thing some more.
They have been the absolute best-tasting thing I have eaten since my surgery.

What a great idea snowberry! I hadn't thought about adding those ingredients to mine!! But I have to say it's probably been my favorite next to cottage cheese so far! I do want to try some eggs though!!
Have a great day!!

Every dietician is different. I wasn't allowed to have tuna until 4 weeks out. I still haven't had any. And i will be 6 weeks tomorrow. Scrambled eggs expand in my stomach so I rarely eat those. If i do it's only like half an egg. A whole egg is WAY too much for me. The uncomfortable feeling is horrible. Measure your food out. Maybe only 1/4 cup of things. Always under eat your sleeve than over eat it. Trust me you don;t want the foamies. Been there done that, still do it every once in a while. It happens if I take one bite too many. HORRIBLE! Refried beans do the same thing to me, I can only have a couple of bites of those or I get uncomfortable.
Greek yogurt though was my go to during the mushy stage. Still is my go to for breakfast almost every single day. Also oatmeal, runnier than usual. I never did the Ricotta Bake but everyone here seems to love it if you ever have a craving for spaghetti or lasagna type things. Cream soups are good, sugar free puddings if you have a sweet tooth, (pudding makes me stomach queasy, so sad because I LOVED pudding)
I just lived off of greek yogurt, light yogurt, refried beans, and soups during the mushy phase. With the refried beans I made layered dips. First the beans, then some shredded cheese, I would warm it in the micro, then I would put ff sour cream, and Wholly guacamole, and some salsa on top. It was good. And super filling. I was also allowed to have crackers, if you want to go that route. So good luck! :] I can't stand to look at cottage cheese anymore. lol

Did you figure out how to cook your sea bass? I would strongly recommend (for any fish I've run across so far!) is when in doubt, packet it! Throw it in some aluminum foil with bit of spices and moisture (I used to use butter but I guess a little spray of it or pam is ok?) and fold over the foil so it's sealed. Cook for a bit, I'd say 15 minutes in a mid range oven. open it up and see if it flakes with a fork--then you're done!

No I didn't!! Thank you - you are awesome!! I was thinking lemon and capers?!? I don't know why but I am craving that for some reason. Lol! You think that would work?!?
And fooey on the popcorn and nut thing! I will wait but that stinks - lol! I will admit though I had a starbucks perfect oatmeal with all the toppings, and I chewed all the nuts and fruit and it digested easier then the beans I am eating for dinner!! Weird huh? I don't plan on eating nuts a whole lot for a while, but I was pleasantly surprised I felt ok.
Thanks for the help!!
