NSV - Completed the Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 5k!
This was the big one for me, I was SO excited to run this race!
My chip time was 37:10, BUT we stopped to take pictures on the NJ/NY line, and we had a bit of trouble at the start of the race b/c they did not make the walkers and people with strollers stick to one side, so there was alot of bobbing and weaving and trying to not trip at the start which messed with our time too. I ran the whole thing from start to finish except where we stoped for pictures (it was just too cool to NOT stop, I mean really, how many times am I going to be able to stand under a river and have one foot in NY and one in NJ? LOL).
So excuese the mess I am, I had already run over 2 miles by the time we took this picture :)

It really was SO cool, and the best thing about it is that you run down one side of the tunnel and come back on the other, so as you are running you have constant motivation especially as you draw to the end of both sides and see the sunlight, it gives you an easy target and goal that keeps you moving! We should get a NJ/NY bariatric team together for next years, make cute t-shirts and all! It's a great cause too (the Special Olympics gets all the proceeds from the event).
HA HA, my best friend literally DRAGGED me over the finish line, but it was all so worth it. She already has us signed up for a 10k two months from now, I need to get on the ball and get my mile count up LOL She was trying to convince me that I need to do a Triathlon with her in October, but I am not sure I am ready for that YET!
CONGRATULATIONS! You don't look a mess you look wonderful!
Thats a really great time, obstructions and all.

Thanks, it was so much fun. Who ever thought running would be fun?
But seriously, when we where done the only thing I could think about was you, ruggie and frisco (and a few others) LOL Parked RIGHT outside the tunnel as we where finishing the race was a Burger King truck giving out breakfast wraps and smoothies. My inner fat girl said "Go get your free food, you earned it" and then I heard you guys in the back of my head saying "What is wrong with you, pull it together" LOL I walked right by and didn't look back!
