How about Ruggie's REAL VSG FAQ, guys?

Sarcastic: The word comes from the Greek σαρκασμός (sarkasmos) which is taken from the word σαρκάζειν meaning "to tear flesh"
Something to keep in mind, LOL
Here is my 2 cents worth.
1.When you think your in a stall, look at your month to month stats. They tell a bigger story.
2.Vitamins have rules and limits. Not all vitamins can be taken together or in unlimited amounts. (Practice rocket science or get with one)
3. If you can't/won't take the time to log your food, you give up the right to ask for assistance with plateaus', stalls or any other diet related issue. Whining about it, is also unacceptable.
4. Find a suitable pain reliever for minor pain such as toothaches, sprains, headaches etc. Advil may no longer be your friend.
5. What you choose to eat, even though you can't eat much, MATTERS!
6. If you can't find the humor in the diversity of a public forum, you should seek one on one counseling. Laughing burns a lot of calories.
cheers,
donna
That no matter how strong you think you are, how many times you've "been there, done that" there WILL be moments of self-doubt, and this is NORMAL! Get it out, and start working on the self-talk early before you need it so you don't flounder in a self-induced panic trying to figure out how to make yourself feel better when sometimes we just need to feel it (whatever it is: ****ty, pissy, happy, bored or any of the other dwarves that live in our brain-case).. Also, every single thing matters, small or large.. you may think "just once" but your brain understands this differently.. start reminding yourself this every single time you think "just this once, then not again.." it will be easier the second, third, hundredth time you encounter that thought.. I like a siggy I saw here, and it hit home.. a mistake happens once, after that- it's a habit. Don't let those habits take root.
And the biggest: You KNOW what didn't work for you/us/we.. Do not think surgery changes this ONE DAMN BIT. If you continue to eat without mindfulness, if you continue to assume you CAN self-regulate your food.. eventually you will end up in the same place you were to begin with. We are not normal, never will be and stop trying to chase it. We need to take steps to make this work till the day we die. This means forever changing the way we run our bodies.. sucks, perhaps- but deal with it, the alternative sucks more!

What? you mean you can't puree a pizza?
Ok, so what I would add to the list is
BE MENTALLY PREPARED FOR CHANGE
You are not going to like eating for awhile. You probably won't like your protein drinks. You are going to run into difficult situations at times. You might get sick a time or two from eating. People may bug you about what you did. So expect the unexpected, learn as much as you can about how life will be post op but recognize that it can be different for everyone. Go to support groups before and after surgery. Fix you head along with your tummy.. Diane
