Greek Yogurt?

I like Greek yogurt.  I've been eating it for a long time with frozen blueberries.  Love that stuff.

Just ate some as a snack for the first time since getting sleeved.  Went to log it.  Only 1 gram per ounce?  Seriously?  That's all?

I'm not sure why it's being pushed when people talk about how important protein is.  Lots of things have more protein in an ounce and the same calories.

Inform me!

My Greek Yogurt is 22g per cup. So it would be more like 2.5g per ounce, right?

Maybe it's my brand that's different.  Greek Gods is the brand, and 4 oz has 4 grams.

There's real greek yogurt (strained yogurt, whey is the major contributor of carbs) and there are milder more mainstream yogurts that call themselves "Greek yogurt"- in fact I think Yoplait has one now too.. ugh.. but they aren't- they have the whey retained, and are generally thinner, milder, sweeter and lack protein..

Chobani, and Fage are the most common true GYs out there, packed with protein, for the cals.. but sour.. due to the whey being removed. You may need/want to doctor them with SF syrups etc if you cannot get past the sourness.

Is Chobani active culture?

Yep, to my knowledge it's real yogurt. Keep in mind- the flavored ones are loaded with sugar.. I'd stick with plain and doctor it up to your liking.

I use Fage, only 130 calories per cup and 23 g of protein.

I really wish I could eat more of this than .25 cup at a time.  I LOVE it soooo much.

Do you add flavors?

I tend to like it on the savory side, so one of my favorite ways (as strange as it may sound) is with salsa mixed in.  But I also add sugar free strawberry jam.  I don't like SF Torani syrups unfortunately.
