im a little worried.....
I want to snack too but I seem to be hungry all the time. I ate 3oz of chicken and about 1/2 broccoli dinner and was full about a half an hour ago... Now I hungry. My stomach has the hunger feeling. I've already had my limit of calories and carbs... Sorry I'm not much help but wanted to let you know you are not alone. Hopefully, someone out there can help us.
Hi Amber,
I haven't has my gastric sleeve yet, but I have been doing some surfing on the web for anything that I can find to help me to make my surgery a succes. One of the websites that I found is called "Theworldaccordingtoeggface.com". Michelle had wls back in 2006 and loved to cook. She has recreated some of her favorite recipes to be wls friendly. Go to the website and check it out. I was impressed with all of the work she has put into this website that can be a benefit to other wls people. she has recipes for making protein shakes, smoothies, and even protein ice cream, among other recipes that was healthy and delicous. We need the vitamins, protein, excercise, and adapt to a new lifestyle that is better for us to obtain a healthier quality of life. I think you may find that when wls people need a snack to satisfy a carving...keep it within the plan or guidelines. One thing that has been etched in to my brain from every doctor or source that I have talked to...wls is a tool, not a solution. I know that I will be going through the same challenges later that you are going through now. You'll probably will be reminding me of what is important to stay on the pathway roo success. Hang in there. Keep up the good work! =)

amber, I'm the same way with carbs. when I don't eat them, I'm fine. but when I eat them, boy do I crave them. I'm obviously not someone who can eat them with "moderation." (I'm fine with fruits and veggies and carbs from dairy products. It's the other carbs that get me.)
And yes, I struggle with urges to snack, too! Usually I can resist. When I'm PMSing, it's much harder. I make the cheese crisps and sometimes one of those is really satisfying, giving me crunch and flavor, and doesn't blow my food plan out of the water.
