I'm not sure what you mean by "normal."  Is it normal to fall back into old habits? Well, that depends.

You already know that you need to find some other outlets for stress besides eating. Go for a walk/exercise. See a movie. Hang out with friends. Do whatever you need to do to handle the stress without having your go-to thing be food.

Show us a day in your food log so we can help see what you can remove. If you aren't logging your food - start. Show us how much water you are drinking. Show us your exercise log. That's the best way for us to help you find areas that you can change.

If you aren't doing these things well then, you know where to start.

Honestly, you're a year out. You already know this stuff. IMO, you just need to get back to what you already know.

I would imagine thesee cravings are linked to eating carbs, go back to basics as basics work

Are you stressed because you are eating more or are you eating more because you are stressed? I think identifying the cause of your stress will help. If you are stressed and are eating as a coping mechanism then you need to find another way to cope. Easier said than done of course. Perhaps making a list of things to do would help. I try to get myself out of the house when I am standing in front of the kitchen cupboards mindlessly looking for something when I am not even close to hungry. If you feel you are eating more for no particular reason it could be the carb syndrome where a few bad carbs just make you want more bad carbs (bad carb=food made from white flour or sugar). Maybe your diet has strayed a little off course, not enough to cause any major weight gain or problems with your blood work but just enough that you are noticing some problems. Are you tracking all your food? maybe that would help to pinpoint any potential problems. Best wishes!!
