Fast food is garbage food...

I have seen alot of posts about people who eat "healthier options" or lower fat option of fast foods. Like Mcdonalds or wendys... Sorry to say that all that food is not real food. Its food like substances. If you do your research they are full of hormones, bacteria, sugar, fat, salt, and chemicals. Watch a few documentaries and do a little research about our food system. Watch Food Inc, Super Size Me, King Corn, etc... Try to eat food that is not processed and filled with additives. Eat Lean proteins you cook yourself then you know whats in your food. You decide what you want in it. Eat veggies you cut, clean and cook. Fruits that do not have extra sugars added... Learn what real food tastes like and you will feel sooooooooo much better. Also you will have less cravings for the junk crappy stuff... This is a journey of health not just weight loss...
Try it and your body will thank you.........

As someone who works in the food industry and works for a company that supplies food products to fast food companies, I find your all-inclusive statement to be offensive.  The products that me and my company supply are not full of hormones, bacteria, chemicals, etc.  We work very hard to make the best possible products that are safe and taste good.  These are the same products we supply to grocery stores and restaurants and the military and on and on and on.

While I understand your point and agree that we should eat cleaner and healthier, I think you are probably not in a position to judge the food industry simply because you watched some documentaries.  I live the food industry.  I've worked in it for years and years.  I get paid to make sure the things we make are safe for consumers.  And I take pride in my job.

I wish you could spend some time with me, seeing what I do, experiencing the food industry for real - not just through documentaries and what you read on the internet - and maybe your eyes would be opened.

*shrug*  I rarely come here anymore and when I do, I only read a few posts.  I've been driven away by frustration... it's unfortunate because I'd like to give back because I've learned so much here.

I guess your core message, for me, got lost because it seems you are not fully informed.

I agree completely!  I eat a chicken breast from chick-fil-a sometimes when I'm out and need something in a pinch, and those are actually pretty good for you, or at least they're not a bad choice.

People love to believe hype that makes for good media stories... whether it is all true or not.

Not to say that McDonald's is packed with healthy food, but there are decent choices out there.

Generalizations can be a dangerous thing.

Nice to hear from someone that has personal experience at background knowledge. As far as the documentaries, for every one going against McDonald's you can find one (or make one) that is FOR it. I think it's funny for people to assume that the chicken and beef from our grocery store is pumped full of so much less hormones than what I buy you get at Carls Jr. I'd like to see multiple, true, and unbias research studies that haven't been used in documentaries that don't support one side or the other before I decide my stance.

To the OP- The only way to know what's really in your food is if you raise it and grow it on your own. You don't know what's at the grocery store either. Have you no****ched the documentaries on the meat and produce industries? It's the same exact stuff you're talking down about. Just sayin.

Seriously, it's the SAME as the grocery store.

By the way, looks like you are rockin' that sleeve!  Keep it up, girlie!

I miss your posts.

You have some awesome information to share. But, I understand needing a break from all of this. I think I bookmarked every single thing you post.

I'm starting to feel the urge to take a break again myself.

Thank you Thank you and Thank you!!!  There are times when you are out shopping and forgot your cheese or cottage cheese, so you must eat at fast food, since you can't afford major restaurants.  I agree, there are choices at fast foods now that are so much better than in times past.

I would love to come with you to see what and who you supply your food to, let me know.
