Exercise question on Myfitnesspal.com

This week I finally started doing a big of exercise--working out with my wii fit.  Nothing too strenuous but I'm out of shape and this is at least getting me moving.

But now MFP is giving me more calories.  Is there a way to turn that feature off?  I don't want my calories.  Obviously, I want to burn them, not eat more to compensate!

I havent found a way to turn it off.  When I look at the summary, I just pay attention to the food number that stays where I set my goal.

Also, when you burn every 10 lbs it asks if you want to recalculate your goals - say NO.

Oh, I think I said yes.  But I don't remember.  Mainly I know their figures have nothing to do with our experience and don't fit what we're going through so I just kind of ignore that stuff.

However, my goal number changed yesterday.  I have 800 set as my goal even though I've started staying closer to 600 whenever possible. Sometimes under.  But yesterday my goal number went up when I logged the exercise.  I guess I could just wait and not log exercise until the end of the day.

I have found that the only way to stop the increase in cals --- assign the exercise a value of 1.
0 doesn't work. Make sense?

I'll go figure out how to do that. Makes sense to me. Thanks!

Yeah, I have to ignore a few things on mfp, that being one of them.

Another tip I learned the hard way: don't update your weight from the phone ap. Update your weight from a computer if you can; otherwise, the ap tends to reset your calorie goals and such.

Yikes! That would suck.  I don't use a phone app so I'm okay. Thanks for the warning, though.

It's cool to see your calorie burn, so I would leave my calories burned there.  Just don't eat them.

I also have found the only way to stop that is assigning the calories you burned to a 1. I personally track my exercise on a different app, because the calorie thing on MFP annoys me. I like seeing how much protein I need to get in for the rest of the day, etc.

Also, if you're walking or running outside there are some great apps that track how fast and how far you've gone, some even track incline. I have found this is more reliable than MFP.
