Well, today I was at the mall and realized I forgot my lunch bag at
home.  I have been carrying everything with me that I need for the
day when I go out.  I remembered everyone talking about Wendy's
chili being so good.  On the way home I went through the drive-
thru and got a small chili to bring home.  It smelled so good!!!!  I
brought it up on the computer and got the nutritional facts.  My
question is - How far out were you when you ate Wendy'schili.
I am in my 5th week and wonder if it is ok for me to try.  I though
1/2 cup as a portion would be good.  Sound okay?

My surgeons schedule says 1/4 mashed potatoes, green beans
sweet potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, and 1/2 cup portions in the
5th and 6th weeks. The 1/2 cup portions show oatmeal, yogurt,
cottage cheese, cream of wheat,..  He also added 1 0z ground
beef, ground turkey or ground chicken or salmon.

I was moved to full foods at 6 weeks - but it was about 8 weeks before I got the chili.  I can only eat about 2 oz at a time still!  But yes, it is soooo good.  :)
I eat until I get full, then save the rest.  One small cup can last me a day.  lol

Maybe I have rushed this quite a bit.  I always feel full so I have
been eating exactly what is on the menu.  I just remembered
everyone saying how great Wendy's chili is, and they are right.
I guess I jumped the gun eating 1/2 cup.  I hope I didn't hurt
anything.

I tried Wendy's Chili at around 7-8 weeks out.  I still get it from time to time if I am on the road.

It's not horrible (taste/nutrition) especially considering its fast food.

I am five months out and can still only eat about 1/2 container (small size) for a meal.

Do not get tempted by the crackers they put in your bag.  Damn food pushers!

Gotta love the food pushers.  I will back off and not have any more
chili for now.  It was good though.  I will wait until I am further out.
I knew I should have listened to myself and waited until I got answers
to my post from the vets.  I put the crackers out of reach while I ate
the chili.  It's been a half hour since I ate the chili, and it's still
staying down - thank goodness.  I am going to have to try and be
more patient.  Thanks for the info.

I think you will be fine. I can't remember the exact first time I ate it but probably around 5-6 weeks. It is soft and mushie should not cause any problems.

Thanks so much.  That makes me feel better about eating it.
I had 1/2 cup.  I hope that wasn't too much.

I gave up fast food a long time ago. But every now and then when I would get caught out longer than expected I found Wendy's chili,Taco Bell's refried beans ( perfect serving size) and Arby's Jr. roast beef without the bun works well. I try to go prepared but sometimes get tired of the same things. Later you can keep some emergency nuts, beef jerkey, etc. close by. For lunch at work sometimes I pack some rotisserie chicken divided in 3 oz. portions in little baggies. Another favorite is baby bell cheese. Good luck and keep up the good work...I know you are going to do great.
