Pics- Hairloss in my shower!- Not a question
Not everyone has such dramatic hair loss. I started experiencing loss around 3 months and it still is coming out. It's much less now at almost 6 months and my hairdresser said last month that little baby hairs are already growing back in.
I'm female, 62 years old, short hair. If I didn't see the hairs in my shower I really wouldn't notice by looking on my head that I am losing as much as I am.
I started pushing protein early right after surgery and was getting 70g. by the 3rd day and have kept protein intake at 90-100g every day since. I was lucky that I could drink easily that early - I think I had very little swelling.
I take biotin and have since the 3rd week, but I don't think it helps hair loss as much as it helps new growth.....and it probably is a total waste of $$$$$ to even take it at all

I think hair loss is pretty much a crap shoot. You either get it or you don't. It won't hurt newbies to seriously consider getting at least all the protein early out - as they can tolerate - and bump up with your doctor's blessing. This is the only thing my surgeon has ever recommended -- get that protein EVERY day.

Yikes! I have the same issue! Only I'm blonde so it doesn't look quite so shocking since it's so light. It is sad though.
My dr insisted it was lack of protein but I get plenty and didn't see much difference after adding in a ton of protein. It does seem to be slowing down a bit now. I'm knockng on wood and crossing all my fingers and toes. I think it's some result of surgery that they haven't figured out yet. I've heard lots of theories, the main one being a result of anesthesia. I had several plastic surgeries and gall bladder surgery and this NEVER happened before. I heard it was a result of drastic weight loss. Well, I haven't had that for sure. I take all of my supplements and drink lots of water and have taken biotin since a week out of surgery. I bought the sublingual and switched to the regular as soon as I could. I take extra zinc and magensium, hair skin and nails AND bought the special shampoo, conditioner, scalp oil kit for 45$. Nothing has prevented it and nothing seems to slow it down. I think it just phases out with time.
