How to break a stall...

Love and support from all your friends IRL and on OH!

Thanks everybody for the Advice, Kind Words, and Comments during my little freak out yesterday.  I have it back together today and my head back in the game.  Every one of you helped!

It seems as If I am back on track, but we will see.  I also had my exercise physiologist and NUT review everything and they both told me that I am on track and doing well, but to be aware that as much as I have lost I may naturally reach a point where I should maintain, and that point may be higher than I want to go.

We'll see....

I'm going to continue my plan and see where this goes.  I'm just not going to do anything stupid!

Again, Thanks to you all.

If they're right, you may find that post-PS you really are where you want to be.  Or, you might prove them wrong.

Hang in there!

Thank you Rob for being so hardcore about this because it's those of you who are really driven & motivated to just get it done, are reasons why I still have my head in the game.
Goal is literally around the corner for you!!!

Rob,

Didn't see your post yesterday, but seeing where you are from where you came is amazing and nothing to worry about. Even if you settle a bit higher you have come so far, enjoy relax and see what happens.
Remember  it's bariactric surgery, not brain surgery! You need to get your head in the game!!!!

Oh, I hear you on this one. I went to see my PCP on Tuesday and he believes my body is trying to tell me this is where it wants to be. I can't quite except it, though. Emotionally I'm not ready to settle for this "number" or body fat percentage. I really believe that I need to push through and get those last 5 to 8 pounds off. I know to some that may sound silly, but to me it doesn't. I didn't have 85% of my stomach removed so that I could lose only 95% of my EWL. Damn it, I want 100%!!!!!

I'm glad you're feeling better today. It's hard to get through a bad emotional day.

Just going to throw this out there, too: I had the great fortune of going to a support group led by Dr. Cirangle yesterday. The subject of exercise and protein intake came up. I asked for clarification on protein intake for men. Both he and his nutritionist recommended that I increase my protein to as high as 1.5 grams per pound of body weight because my exercise level is high 4 to 5 days per week. I am going to add another 20 to 30 grams per day this week to start and see how it goes.  I know you've been doing a lot of exercise, too. It might be something to consider. I know that the last time I pushed my protein up to 100 grams per day, but left my calories the same,  I broke a mini stall and started losing like mad again.

Just my thoughts.

I hear ya!  That was kind of the same thing I said yesterday to my team - I didn t do all of this to still be overweight clinically.

Is that 1.5 g of protein per lb? or per KG?  at a pound that would be close to 300 g of rotein a day for me at 196.  At per kg that would be 133g which seems achievable.

Thanks man!

He said per pound. Clarification, too, he said up to 1.5 grams meaning between 100grams per day up to 1.5 grams per pound of body weight and as long as your kidneys are in good functioning order. I'm going to start at 120 to 130 grams of protein per day and take it from there.

This is similar to the  recommendation I was given for women  -- 2/3-1g per pound.  One point that was made to me was to use my target weight not current weight for that calculation.  I average 120 protein a day.

Edited to add: This applies to female athletes in training, building muscle
