Wii Fit?

I know this doesn't compare to working out at a gym, but it's what I have available right now.

Does anybody else use the Wii to work out?  I have Wii Fit whi*****ludes the platform that weighs me and tracks my weight and BMI, plus my minutes of activity.  I also have Dance, Dance and Wii Sport but haven't been using them since they don't track, and I've been all about the numbers.

What I like about Wii Fit is the stress it puts on core strength and balance, both of which I need.

I love Wii Fit.  I'm at a beginner level for fitness.  Well, less than beginner.  And I find it's very useful for me.

Try the biggest loser game and then say it's Nora's good a workout as the gym. I dare you I also like things like some of the Ravin Raymond's Rabbids games that get you moving.

Any exercise is good - as long as you are burning calories.  I want to try yoga - but too expensive right now for someone not working :(

As the OP notes, the Wii Fit is something of a "gym lite" but it is great for pre-op and early post-op days. I found a lot of the exercises provided a gentle stretch in areas untouched by the basic walking we usually do the first few weeks - that felt so good. Also, a lot of the exercises, particularly in the balance section, but in others as well, help enhance our balance at a time when everything is changing rapidly - I used to kid my wife when she was going thru this a few years ago that it was like going thru puberty in reverse ("please, not again!" she would cry...) - nothing is the same day to day. I know of a couple of post ops who have hired professional kineseologists (classy trainers) to help them with their balance and coordination after these changes.

Do try to keep things gentle and don't overdo the core things for a while until the incisions heal  - at least 6-12 weeks depending on different doc's opinions.

I love Wii Fit!  I do the boxing, running (I more fast-walk), hula hoop, and lots of the balance exercises.  I manage to get my heart rate up, and it's entertaining.

Just wondering what all you do on the Wii.  My kids have one and i din't know about the Wii Fit.  Do you have to have the platform to use it?  thanks
