I am glad things are going well for you too. Yes, it's nice to have that extra support at home. Hope everything continues to run smoothly for us

Great news! You have made it through the hardest part IMO. I envy you! I am TERRIFIED of having the actual surgery and the initial healing process. It seems so unpredictable. You seem to have done well through this part of your journey. I fear the oral pain meds will make me nauseous as well. I'm glad you hear that are options for medications that help with the nausea as well. I will make sure I ask for that one before I even take an oral medication.

How did they decide when you get to leave the hospital? Do you have concerns that you will not get enough fluids in on your own with an IV?

You will be fine. Just think, The recovery time will pass and you will be back to normal in no time. That's what I tell myself, like my buddy Ryan says, Just go in being positive It truly helps. I left the hospital the third day, I think my doctor knew I didn't want to stay in the hospital for 4th of July so he let me go home. He did lecture me about the importance of getting my liquids in. So I have been on top of drinking alot of water and my protein drinks and my vitamins, I don't wanna feel weak or get dehydrated and so far so good Wishing you the best.

I'm glad you are doing well and hope you recover quickly.
I am new to the forum (any) on the internet for weight loss surgery, but my surgery date is next Thursday and I am really nervous.  Can you share what I am going to experience.  I am getting the sleeve surgery.  Take care

I know you won't be able to have anything to drin****il you have the leak test after surgery.  Getting through the test ok was the only anxious moment I remember.  The time in the hospital goes quickly and before you know it you will be home doing a lot of sipping and resting.  It will be fine.

Everyone has different experiences, but as I said before. I went in with a positive attitude, and I feel everything went smoothly, at the hospital, for me that part wasn't too bad. At home it's a little harder cause your on your own. Stay on top of your liquids, water, protein, meds, vitamins and basically follow your doctors plan, very important and you will do just fine. Wishing you the best

I'm 5 days out too and I was just remarking to a friend who stopped by that I started feeling more normal today.  If I didn't have to have this stupid drain in til I see my doc on Thurs I think I would feel even better.  I'm still on clear liqs until Sun when I can start full liqs so I'm mostly doing water, sf tropical popsicles and chicken broth. Hope you continue to improve!
