Awww poor you. I feel you.

When I travel, it feels like vacation like everything is cal free. I have to not be tempted in the hotel. I know a lot of my travel companions used to take the time to hit the bar, chase women, do all the things they weren't supposed to do. I alway**** the minibar and loaded up on chocolate and carbs.

I travel this month. I'm going to have to remember to be strong and not give in.

This made me smile...and laugh a bit about the toilet issue. :-) Sorry it was a challenge for you. Way to go with moderation and self-control though! And just look at the power the potato does not have on you now!

I am also relieved to find out that  you are still human and actually do battle the same demons we all do...you're battling them very well too! :)

Way to go!

And I'm drinking a new protein drink recipe right now and it's not that good...and I'm still hungry...and now I'm thinking about beer battered french fries...thanks

That is the BEST way to clog a toliet!  Excellent job on recognizing that you were compulsive eating and that you stopped yourself before eating the whole bag.  You should feel very proud of yourself :)

Picturing those poor taters in the toilet!  WTG - making stuff inedible is something my daughter does to give herself control too!

I pack (or pick up at the airport) some jerky - not the BEST option, but it does help keep the feroutious hunger at bay.  Also always the go-to almonds.

Thanks for the giggle!

I can only imagine your mental dismay and your sense of smell's delight when you saw those fries.

I'm sure there will be trigger foods coming, but I will now definitely be inspired by your flushing solution!

I think this is a great story.  It illustrates two things to me, first, we are never fully cured of our food issues and demons and they can come back if we let our guard down.  That is why the potatoes almost took over.  On the other hand, our drives and desires are not our destiny.  You were able to take your control back, throw the french fries away and log them to stay accountable.  It is a great maintenance type of moment. I am so very proud of you and I hope that I would have done the same in the same situation.

Potatoes of any kind are a huge trigger for me. I'll admit I've made bad choices before in eating a few fries or a bite of mashed potatoes only to realize what I'm doing and quickly remove them from my vicinity.

You're a pro, no worries!

Been there, done that. My husband was trying to be sweet and brought me a banana pudding milk shake from Chic fil A b/c he knew I would love it, and when I just kind of looked at him and blinked a few times he said "well, I got the small" LOL

I drank about 1/4 of it (and he was right, I did love it), then tossed it in the sink and filled the cup with ho****er.

It happens, you can go back about six months in my posts to find the one about my run in with the garlic knots, it was a true revelation.

Oh, and next time just toss them in the garbage and pour a cup of toile****er OVER them, so you don't have to call maintenance to come take care of your clogged toilet LOL

This is exactly what we will have to deal with for the rest of our lives, and you overcame - excellent, awesome job.  Thanks for showing that regaining of the senses can be done.

Those potatoes are right where they belong - in the crapper.
