100 Calorie Snacks........Good or Bad ???

I just served these as part of what we call "Craft Services"......ie. Food Table.......

What I found out (not personally) is that 10 packs = 1000 Calories !!!!!

People were grabbing packs at a time and eating them pack by pack through out the day!!!!

I don't know... I guess it is portion control......and a couple giant cookies is the same thing......

I just thought it funny that it really didn't seem to work.......

I stay away from those small packs. They just make me wanna munch and munch!

On another note, I've missed you. I know you been living life but I don't see your words of wisdom often enough these days.
You have a lot to offer, give it up!

It's better than a whole bag as research shows that we tend to eat what we think is a portion no matter what size.  On the other hand, who needs 100 wasted calories?  And as you have noted, most people think it's diet food so it's OK to eat a few of them, especially if they are free.

LOL! Our pantry is stacked with those as my kids bring a bag each for lunch when at school. It's definitely about portion control though. People can make the healthiest option out the unhealthy if they dont control the portions. I like the fact that by having them individually packaged however I'm not sure it matters to 90% of the people out there as they will just grab 5 bags. LOL

Those damn things grabbed me for a while during my WL phase.  I discovered to my dismay that, even if my overall calories were within my goals for the day, if I ate one of these it affected my weight eventually.  As Gary Taubes has proven, a calorie is NOT a calorie.  At the time I was eating, usually, 6 times a day, teeny meals that really were snack-size in volume.  All planned, including the snack packs.  But they did me wrong, and had to kick them to the curb.

Yep! That's why I gained every time I was at weigh****chers ! Not that they forced me to eat them,lol ..but definitely NOTquality food.

While I think the portion control concept is good, these things are so loaded with garbage ingredients. Even before I decided to pursure WLS, I stopped eating these types of foods. Well, there is a lot of stuff in there that is not really "food."

BAD!

It's crap food. Highly processed, high carb, highly flavored crap food. Pure and simple.

Did I love that crap? YUP? Will. Not. Eat. It. Anymore!

Now Doritos, that's a different story! LOL!

Did read an article about how Cheez Its (in particular) were tested in a lab to find the exact flavor combination to induce cravings in the most people. Seriously -  engineered so you can't eat just one!
