Lesson for today, just cause you can does not mean you need to...
Another great post!!! Newbies: pay attention cuz this is good stuff!
"Full" gets even harder and harder to find the further out you get. At over a year out, getting to "full" easily gets me in trouble. So eat measured amounts, that are less than your full capacity, and learn to feel satisfied and "done" as opposed to full.

Great post!! I am almost 2 years out and I don't think I could eat an entire hamburger with bread, if I tried. I think it would depend upon the size of the burger. I have never tried it, but it sounds painful. I still measure out my food and sometimes, depending upon the type of protein, I don't always fini**** "Full" is uncomfortable, so I strive for "satisfied." I have learned to listen to my sleeve.
When I am out, I separate out what I need to eat, and ask for a box for the remainder, if I want to have another meal from the food. Sometimes, I would like to eat more of the entree, but my sleeve keeps me in check, as well as just separating out my portion for that meal, and being satisfied with the portion, rather than, uncomfortably full.

This is a very good reminder. I have caught myself pushing in an extra bite or two, because it tastes so good or started eating too fast again, and missed my satisfied feeling. I agree, the feeling of full, sucks. I dutifully measure everything out, but have noticed the second my eyes start to haze over, and I feel suddenly tired, I ate too fast and its time to stop. Not a good habit to get into.
Old habits are soo hard to break, this is why we need to make the lifestyle changes for life. I tend to look at the tiny portion, and think, I am not getting enough nutrition from this, so I tend to justify eating every bite. I have to remind myself, that what's more important, is listening to my body's signals, as to what I truly need. Let's face it. As obese people, we are good at ignoring our signals, so this is the time to turn up our "selective hearing aids" and "tune" into our signals more. You'd be surprised on just how little we need to be satisfied and healthy. We just need to send the memo to our eyes, and brain too.

Ugh, I can totally relate to the eyes glazing over and tired feeling, my nose also runs and I sneeze like a crazy person, then I REALLY know I over did it. I tend to justify too, my main one is "well I need this b/c I exercise so much", when ever I catch myself doing that I take a step back and analyze what I actually "need" to keep my body moving and what it really takes to fuel me, it's always an eye opener.
