question about 2 week preop diet
I was looking over the replies and am so sorry to say that only one reply was correct. That was the one from Pobearsam7.
Absolutely you must not listen to what other people say they are doing or what their doctor has told them to do. If you are having trouble with what your doctor has instructed you to do ... you need to tell him/her or the nutritionist that gave you those instructions and allow them to give you modifications as needed.
Your pre op diet should be considered your prescription for weight loss. If your doctor gave you medicine to take for a certain condition and you were having trouble with it ... you wouldn't get online and ask what other people are taking or doing. You would call your doctor and talk with him/her.
That being said, this board is great for a lot of advice. Always remember that it is quite likely that you are not talking with doctors on this forum. I am not saying that there aren't doctors on here just that you need to consider the source. You are talking with patients that have similar experiences and are not qualified to give you medical advice.
Please simply contact your doctor or nutritionist instead of just up and changing what you were supposed to do based on what other people are doing or have done. Each and every doctor has their preferences and expectations for their patients and although some plans might be similar the differences could be important.
This post wasn't meant to offend anyone or disagree with what other people are doing. It is about getting to the point and being a little blunt about it. I do apologize if it has indeed offended anyone.
