No NSAIDS

I am currently on Ibuprofen by prescription 800 mg 3x a day... It is for my arthritic bad knee.. Does anyone know how to cope the 10 days before surgery and after without NSAIDS? I hurt all over if I don't take and walking is painful and not easy...

Did you talk to your surgeon about alternatives? I would start there.

I did and he said I had to be off of them no way around it before surgery. And after surgery we would talk again. I hope one day to be off of these..

But did you ask him what you could take in their place or did he say no meds at all?

Tylenol was the recommended option. I will call back to be sure there is nothing else. Tylenol doesn't phase it at all.

Voltaren Gel works great for arthritis. It also comes in a pill, which is better - but if you have to be off the NSAIDS....that would help.

yes, Voltaren Crean is wonderful stuff, ask your doc. for a RX
